"Following your heart regardless of the opinions and expectations of others and society, and sometimes your own ego and fears, is not always the easy path but it will be the most fulfilling path in the end."

It’s the last day of 2019 and the last day of the decade...crazy thought. I don’t know that I can even sum up the amount of change and growth that I’ve experienced the last 10 years.
I moved all the way across the country on my own to pursue my dreams of acting. I’ve been homeless, jobless, rejected, abandoned, forced out of my comfort zone, faced a lot of adversity and fears, but I’m still here; I’m still standing. I’ve also overcome a lot of these things and accomplished and experienced amazing things also.
If there is a dream you have, a passion, something that lights your soul on fire, go after it. Never give up. If you get tired or beaten down learn to rest, but never quit. Stand back up and keeping following your heart. Following your heart regardless of the opinions and expectations of others and society, and sometimes your own ego and fears, is not always the easy path but it will be the most fulfilling path in the end. Other people may not understand, support, or believe in your journey or vision but that’s okay. It’s not their life or journey to live, it’s yours. It’s okay to stand out, to do something different, to make a mistake, to take chances for the things you want. It’s also okay to be afraid, just don’t let your fear dictate your choices or actions. It’s okay to be YOU.
I am grateful for all of the experiences and growth this decade has brought me and I’m looking forward to more adventures in the next 10 years to come; I know that the best is truly yet to come.
Choose faith over fear, love over fear, soul over ego. Try to worry less and believe more. Love yourself. Dream big and don’t settle. You deserve to have your dreams come true. I wish everyone a Happy New Year. See you in 2020.
